Once again the mid-year e-Crime Congress has delivered a range of diverse and thought provoking presentations.  In plenary and educational seminar sessions the speakers operated at the cutting edge - very much a conference with its eye on the horizon.  Of course no such event is complete without the right networking opportunities - and here too the congress managed exactly the right balance. My experience is that eCrime conference events always provide expert and highly topical eSecurity content, with an interesting mix of subject matter with informative delivery, and the 2010 eCrime Mid-Year Meeting did not disappoint in this aspect.  Coupled with excellent organisation and comfortable accommodation. In the past I have generally found the majority of conferences to be of poor value, and not really worth attending, but eCrime events are the big exception to this, and well worth attending. What I found most pleasing was that the speakers were able to explain how they dealt with e-crime issues. That allowed in one day, to obtain an overview of both the threats businesses are facing, and to get a glimpse of how they can be countered. I learned a lot from this session. Very enjoyable and informing presentations that have broadened my knowledge on new emerging and existing threats. The information contained in these meetings is of massive use to help defend company boundaries and get an insight into how other companies run their Info Sec. The educational seminars were a nice break from the standard format and the occasional practical demonstration was well received. My favourite part was Jason Hart who gave a demo of hacking and how easy it is, insane! Generally the whole day ran at a good pace and went very quickly. I look forward to future meetings.
