Thank you to all those who presented at and attended the 2008 e-Crime Congress.
We look forward to welcoming you again in 2009! |
| The 2008 e-Crime Congress provided unique insights into progressive operational and strategic methodologies being deployed by global businesses, government, and law enforcement to tackle cyber-crime. This was yet another sell-out year for the event, with over 40 countries represented by delegates from the public and private sector.
Over 45 speakers from business, government, law enforcement, and the market's leading service suppliers joined us to share their knowledge and expertise on existing and emerging threats within the electronic environment. |
| Feedback from the 2008 Event:
This was the 4th congress I have attended and I find the organisation and the content of the congress so relevant to the work that we are doing for our customers that since my first congress I have always brought 3 colleagues along so that we miss nothing during the two days.
I wait until I have attended the congress each year before I publish our audit plan for the company, this allows me to better set our target for audit and to ensure that we are doing as much as we can to protect ourselves and our customers from the latest attacks as identified by the congress. During last year I identified an attack pattern which had been discussed at the 2007 congress, this allowed me to make a rapid identification and we took the immediate steps required to close the attack before any damage had been done.

Many thanks. The 6th E-Congress event was stacked with high quality speakers in the plenary sessions with information and opinions very relevant to the challenges I face. The education seminars were particularly helpful and one has probably given me the answer to a problem I have been trying to resolve for some time. Group Security Director, Littlewoods Retail Ltd
E-crime is a global occurrence and therefore needs global action. All the highly competent speakers from all over the world made it very clear that cooperation is the keyword. The e-crime congress is also a perfect place for networking and exchanging experiences. I am really impressed by the whole arrangement, and I hope there will be a new e-crime congress in 2009.

The e-Crime Congress was a good opportunity to see how the world of computer crime has developed over the last year. The congress presented a wide range of topics and speakers, both national and international, from sectors such as government, commerce and academia.
